Mission:  Develop and promote programs and events providing historical education and entertainment, to increase knowledge surrounding ancestral events that shaped our society.

Vision:  Establish a living history/historical research facility in Nebraska City, Nebraska that will allow individuals, organizations and institutions of learning to engage in a blending of traditional studies with historical reenactments, adding a level of realism seldom achieved in any other venue.

Everyone has a period in time they enjoy.  Do you like books or movies about the following?

            Vikings

            Medieval adventures

The awakening of the arts during the Renaissance

            Victorian England

            Civil war battles

            Etc.

The Midlands Historical Arts Foundation is here to help you explore that love.  Our knowledgeable personnel can help you with anything from period research to costume creation for your favorite event.  Would you like to create an event in your community but don’t know where to start?  We can perform an event feasibility study and then either develop or assist you in developing the event.

We are currently looking for benefactors/sponsors willing to help us locate and procure property in the Nebraska City area on which we will establish our foundation.  This property will be used to hold various reenactment events to include but not limited to:  Medieval/Renaissance festivals, Civil War battles, Powwows, etc.  In addition to this we plan on opening it up for Halloween - Haunted Village, Christmas – Santa’s Village, Easter Egg Hunts and whatever else we can offer to Nebraska City and surrounding towns.  Finally as I mentioned earlier, we plan on building a complex to include a research center/library, museum and with any luck a small castle.

Our projected research center will be a central repository of fictional and reference works (books), movies, Internet, period clothing and living history displays.
